World's first unmanned aerial vehicle launched

The world's first, China-made passenger-carrying unmanned aerial vehicle, EH216-S, was launched on an e-platform with a unit price of 2.39 million yuan (over $332,00) on Monday.


EH216-S has obtained the airworthiness certificate and completed commercial trial operations worldwide. With a length of 6.05 meters, a width of 5.73 meters and a height of 1.93 meters, the electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft can carry 2 passengers.

The aircraft has 16 propellers and a maximum flight range of 30 kilometers with a maximum speed of 130 kilometers per hour.


The company will provide customers with professional services and ensure the approval of urban airspace, flight route setting, aircraft maintenance and engineer training, said He Tianxing, vice president of EHang Holdings Limited.


Another type of long range aircraft with a maximum flight range of 300 kilometers, the VT-30, is also listed on the e-platform. It has completed the verification and test flight and will apply for a type certificate within this year.
