World Buddhist Forum holds prayer meeting for world peace
A grand prayer meeting for world peace was held on Wednesday during the ongoing sixth World Buddhist Forum in the coastal city of Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province.
Master Yanjue, president of the Buddhist Association of China, and Pasong Lielong Zhuangmeng and Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po, both vice presidents of the association, led the sutra chanting ritual, which was attended by over 1,000 Buddhists and guests.
Themed "Hand in Hand for Coexistence," this year's forum has invited representatives from the Buddhist community, experts, scholars and other guests from 72 countries and regions around the world.
First launched in 2006, the triennial forum has successfully organized five editions, and evolved into the largest and most influential multilateral platform for international Buddhist-related exchange and dialogue initiated by China.
