The Bahamas gets new ambassador from China

The Bahamas has received a new ambassador from China, H.E. Yan Jiarong, who recently arrived in Nassau to assume office.


Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, Keva Bain, and Chief Protocol Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, Paul Terry Archer, greeted the ambassador at the airport.


Staff of the Chinese Embassy in the Bahamas and diplomats were also present to receive the new ambassador.

Yan said that under the attention and guidance of the two countries' leaders, China-Bahamas relations have maintained a healthy and positive development momentum.


The Chinese diplomat said she looks forward to working with the Bahamian side and friends from all walks of life who support China-Bahamas relations to further promote the steady development of China-Bahamas relations with more tangible achievements and a new chapter of friendship.


On behalf of the Bahamian government, Bain warmly welcomed Ambassador Yan, saying that the Bahamas attaches great importance to developing relations with China and will provide all the necessary convenience and support for her.


H.E. Yan Jiarong is the tenth Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Bahamas.
