Ambassador Yang Yang, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, arrived in Guyana on April 17, 2025 to assume office.

Upon arrival, Ambassador Yang was welcomed by Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Guyana Ambassador Ivan Evelyn, and senior diplomats of the Embassy at the airport.

She replaces Ambassador Guo Haiyan who served three years in Guyana. Throughout her tenure, Ambassador Haiyan played a pivotal role in advancing bilateral relations across various sectors.

Under Ambassador Haiyan’s stewardship, trade between Guyana and China saw significant growth, creating new avenues for business and investment on both sides.

Additionally, the Ambassador facilitated major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and buildings, which have transformed Guyana’s landscape.
