New Chinese Ambassador arrives in Dominica

The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, H.E. Chu Maoming, arrived in Dominica on Friday, April 15, to assume office.

 

He was welcomed by the Chief Protocol Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade, and Energy, Ms. Ezra Thomas, as well as representatives of diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.

 

Ambassador Chu said that he’s greatly honoured to assume the position of the 7th Ambassador to Dominica on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Dominica.

He noted that over the years, the two countries have respected each other and treated each other as equals. With increasing political mutual trust, vigorous exchanges, and cooperation in various fields, and with the deepening friendship between the two peoples, China-Dominican relations have become a good example of South-South cooperation.

 

Ambassador Chu emphasised that he’s ready to co-consolidate the latest consensus reached by the leaders of both countries with the Dominican side, enhancing   bilateral relations, practical cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations, achieving more results and delivering  more benefits for the two peoples.

 

Thomas, on behalf of the Dominican side, warmly welcomed Ambassador Chu's arrival. She expressed Dominica’s deep appreciation for the traditional friendship between the two nations and noted that Dominica will keep abiding firmly by the one-China principle, enhance cooperation with the Chinese Embassy, and provide assistance and support to Ambassador Chu in his tenure in Dominica.
