Chinese Embassy in Jamaica hosts symposiums on Taiwan

Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Chen Daojiang presided over a series of symposiums on "Remaining true to the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations and welcoming a better future together" to comprehensively elaborate on China's principled position on the Taiwan issue.

The events were held between May 13 and 15, 2024 at the Chinese Embassy of Jamaica.

Jamaica’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Brown Burke, Chairman of the Opposition People's National Party of Jamaica, and youth representatives of the two parties attended the event.

Ambassador Chen introduced the historical context of the Taiwan issue in detail. He pointed out that the international community generally abides by the one-China principle, which has become an international principle, the aspiration of the people, and the general trend.
