Chinese Embassy in Guyana hosts forum on 'Five Principles'

The Chinese Embassy in Guyana and Guyana Peace Council, Cheddi Jagan Research Centre co-hosted the seminar on “from the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence to Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”.


Chinese Ambassador Mrs. Guo Haiyan, Former President of Guyana Mr. Donald Ramotar, Former Foreign Minister Mr. Clement Rohee, senior journalist Mr. Samuel Sukhnandan made presentations.


Representatives of Guyanese government officials, academics, youth and media attended.

Ambassador Guo elucidated the key elements of the important address delivered by President Xi Jinping at the conference marking the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.


She emphasized that China stands ready to work with the Global South including Guyana to promote the Five Principles and build a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.


The Guyanese participants spoke highly of the historical and practical significance of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.


They believe that the vision of building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind put forward by President Xi Jinping responds to the call of the times, pointing out the way forward for today’s world amid profound transformation and amounting challenges.
