Chinese diplomat inspects river defense project in Dominica

Chinese Ambassador to Dominica,  H.E. Chu Maoming accompanied by Hon. Daren Pinard, MP for the Colihaut constituency and Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour, Public Service Reform, Social Partnership Entrepreneurship for Dominica, Mr. Daniel Pemberton, Project Liaison Officer in the Prime Minister’s Office and Chinese technical experts, conducted an inspection of the Colihaut River Defense Wall Project funded by the Chinese government.  


During the visit, Ambassador Chu and the delegation, guided by the project manager, toured previous river defense wall installations and the ongoing construction site. Chinese technical experts provided assessments on project location, material selection, and other key aspects.

Ambassador Chu expressed his anticipation for the project’s early completion, emphasizing its potential to benefit local residents. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Dominica to enhance the country’s climate resilience and disaster prevention capabilities, fostering a stronger China-Dominica partnership that continues to deliver tangible benefits to the people.
