"Chinese Bridge" language proficiency contest held in Suriname

The Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition organized by the Confucius Institute at the Anton de Kom University was held in Suriname, on June 1, 2024.


The institute held the competition for the first time and after intense competition, student Chung Hailey won the first prize.


The competition was co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy and University.


The contest allows Chinese language lovers from all over the world to tell stories in Chinese, helping the language go global, and enabling the world to embrace Chinese.

As part of the world-wide "Chinese Bridge'' Chinese Proficiency Competition held annually, this preliminary competition is to select first prize winners for the competitive contestants for the international competition, which will be held in October, in China.


More importantly, it provides an opportunity for all Chinese Language learners in Suriname and participants by other countries, to learn from and communicate with each other.


All participants were rewarded with gifts and certificates. The winner will automatically qualify to attend the next round of the competition in China.
