China to hold IP conference for BRI countries
The top intellectual property regulator in China said on Wednesday that the 3rd High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property for Countries along the "Belt and Road" will take place in Beijing from September 11 to 13.
According to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), heads of international and regional organisations as well as those from about 70 IP institutions in the nations that are partners in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will be attending the conference.
Around 450 people are anticipated to attend the event, which will also be attended by embassy personnel in China, representatives from pertinent domestic departments, business experts, and academics, according to the CNIPA.
Senior CNIPA official Sheng Li stated at a press briefing that the attendees will have in-depth conversations on regional cooperation, green development, digital transformation, and IP value improvement.
Sheng noted that throughout the three days of the conference, discussions would be held by CNIPA, the World Intellectual Property Organisation, and the Eurasian Patent Office to address issues pertaining to the function of intellectual property in promoting the innovative growth of businesses.
China has actively encouraged collaboration and exchanges with BRI member nations in a number of domains, such as intellectual property regulations, staff training, examinations, and education.
It has agreements in place for IP collaboration with fifty-seven BRI partner nations. China has trained more than 1,300 IP specialists from various nations in more than 50 training sessions since 2013.
In an effort to help BRI partner nations develop their IP capacities, Chinese specialists have also been dispatched to over ten nations and international organisations to undertake training sessions and exchanges.
