China & Antigua and Barbuda host table tennis tournament in celebration of diplomatic relations

ST. JOHN’S - China & Antigua and Barbuda celebrated 40 years of diplomatic relations with a friendly table tennis tournament in grand style on September 9.


The event was organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Antigua and Barbuda Table Tennis Association (ABTTA).


Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Zhang Yanling, presented six table tennis boards along with rackets, nets, and balls to the ABTTA, a gesture symbolising China’s commitment to the country.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Trade, and Barbuda Affairs, Hon. E. P. Chet Greene, thanked the embassy for the gesture and expressed confidence in continued good relations.


The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from players of all ages, showcasing their skills in a friendly and competitive environment.


Diplomatic relations between China and Antigua & Barbuda were established on January 1, 1983.
