China, Antigua and Barbuda hold bilateral talks at UNESCO

China’s Education Minister Jinpeng Huai met with his Antigua and Barbuda counterpart Daryll S. Matthew in Paris on November 8 at the 42nd session of the general conference of UNESCO.


The two ministers held bilateral discussions and committed to fostering exchange and mobility opportunities for students from both nations.


Minister Jinpeng Huai extended an invitation for his counterparts to meet in China, seeking to further fortify educational cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Matthew expressed optimism about transforming the exceptional relations between the two countries, especially through educational and cultural exchanges.


He also cited China’s invaluable support in safeguarding and promoting the unique attributes of Antigua and Barbuda.


Earlier this year, China expressed a willingness to work closer with Antigua and Barbuda to consolidate political trust and expand people-to-people exchanges, among others.


The Eastern Caribbean nation considers China to be their most important cooperative partner. The two countries are celebrating over 40 years of diplomatic ties.
